Congress will win this time in Nagaon: Pradyut

By A Correspondent

NAGAON, March 20 - Former minister and the Congress candidate for Nagaon parliamentary constituency, Pradyut Bordoloi today blew the bugle for the fight of ballots in Nagaon parliamentary constituency.

Bordoloi in a press conference held this afternoon at Nagaons Rajiv Bhavan said that he was overwhelmed with the support and cooperation of the Congress workers of the constituency that he witnessed today and also said that it significantly pointed to his big win in the constituency this time. He reiterated further that the spontaneous gatherings of the party workers including the young generation at various places on his way to Nagaon from Guwahati gave him the indication that the Congress this time would win in Nagaon after a long break.

Pointing out to dissident activity among ticket seekers of other political parties, Bordoloi said that such a thing was not witnessed in Congress this time because of which Dr Durlav Chamua even after not getting the ticket was along with him. He said that during the tenure of the present BJP-led government, the BJP and RSS suffocated the society through massive polarisation over religion and blocked the progress of the people from farmers and cart pushers to the upper category of the society. Criticising the ruling saffron party and its fraternal organisations like the RSS, he said that the BJP-led government has completely failed to generate or introduce employment opportunities to the youth of the country although it promised to give top priority to this sector before the last Lok Sabha election. Former minister Rakibul Hussain, Nurul Huda, MLA, Rupahihat, Dr Durlav Chamua, ex MLA, Nagaon Sadar and other dignitaries of Nagaon district Congress were also present at the press conference.
