UDALGURI, April 2 - We are hopeful that the Indian National Congress will give its best ever performance in the entire country and in our 8 Mangaldai HPC this time, said Bhubaneswar Kalita, INC candidate, for 8 Mangaldai HPC here today.

Kalita visited the Udalguri Satra and also talked to the local media persons. The Congress candidate, who is also the sitting Rajya Sabha MP, maintained that if his party comes to power, the controversial CAB would be thrown into the dustbin and it would be his priority to revive the special status to Assam.

The Congress candidate said the seventeen lakh voters of the prestigious Mangaldoi HPC would cast their conscience votes in his favour and he would emerge a winner.

It is to be noted that there is no AIUDF candidate this time in the list of eleven candidates in the fray from the 8 Mangaldai HPC.

Though there are eleven candidates in the fray this time from the constituency, people here are of the opinion that Congress and BJP would lock horns in the poll battle.
