Cong to protest if name of any Indian citizen not included in NRC: Gogoi

By Correspondent

NAGAON, July 16 - Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi fears that the names of thousands of Indian citizens names will be excluded from the final draft of NRC but the Congress will register its opposition if the name of one genuine Indian citizen is not included in the NRC. According to Gogoi, all the names that figured in the 2016 electoral rolls should be included in the NRC.

Addressing media persons here, Tarun Gogoi alleged that law-and-order situation has deteriorated in the State, crime against women is increasing, the government has failed to trace out Rebati Phukan and has failed to nab the culprits who killed student leader Lafiqul Islam.

Gogoi was critical of an official tweet of the Athletics Federation of India which said that Hima was weak in English. We should praise her sports calibre and not her speaking calibre.

He also criticised the government for starting a toll plaza at Raha.

DCC president Tapan Sarma and other leaders of the party were present in the press meet.
