Cong, others flay State Govt over current situation

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 1 - Leaders of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Anchalik Gana Marcha, CPI and CPI (ML) today criticised the BJP-led State government over the current socio-political situation prevailing in the State.

Speaking at a joint press conference here, APCC president Ripun Bora said that the recently unearthed SI recruitment scam is part of a long agenda of the BJP and RSS to capture the entire administrative machinery.

Bora alleged that the BJP and RSS are trying to saffronise the entire administrative machinery by appointing people having allegiance to them.

Speaking at the press conference, newly-elected Rajya Sabha member and Anchalik Gana Marcha leader Ajit Kumar Bhuyan asserted that the SI recruitment scam is much more serious then the APSC scam.

The dynamics of the ongoing probe on the SI recruitment scam proves that it is going to become nothing but a farce. None of the high profile people involved in the scam will be arrested and one day police will close the case, Bhuyan rued.

Bhuyan also pointed out that they have come into a consensus to fight unitedly for every issue related to the State, but refused to say anything about the grand alliance.

CPI (ML) leader Bibek Das and CPI leader Munin Mahanta were also present at the joint press conference.
