Cong flays BJP over vague allegations

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, June 21 The ruling Congress today criticised the BJP for bringing vague allegations of corruption against it and particularly requested senior BJP leader Bijoya Chakravorty to refrain from using derogatory language against Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

Chakravorty had recently alleged that the Tarun Gogoi Government had misappropriated more than Rs 5,000 crore out of the total plan outlay of Rs 9,000 crore for the year 2011-12.

Government spokesperson Nilamoni Sen Deka, while refuting the allegations of Chakravorty, said that the BJP leader had absolutely no idea how the fiscal system worked in the country. Chakravorty must bring specific complaints of corruption so that the Government can act on them. By being vague in her allegations she is only misguiding the people, said Deka.
