Cong-BPF alliance will continue: Hagrama

By Correspondent

KOKRAJHAR, May 1 Negating party MLA Pramila Rani Brahmas statements regarding post-poll alliance of BPF with the NDA and criticism of some failed Congress ministers, BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary reaffirmed at a press conference here that the Congress-BPF alliance will continue and warned Brahma of expulsion from the party if she didnt withdraw the statements within two days.

Terming the statements made on Wednesday by Pramila Rani Brahma in Guwahati as most unfortunate, Mohilary clarified, What she said is not the decision of the BPF party. It is her opinion. This (statement) is not going to affect the Congress-BPF ties in the government in any way.

Threatening Brahma of expulsion from the party after May 16 if she failed to withdraw her statements within two days, Mohilary said she has no right to criticize any Congress ministers.

He, however, clarified that a decision on supporting the government at the Centre would be taken only after a consultation with the Congress party following declaration of results on May 16.

Expressing full confidence of winning the prestigious Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over one lakh votes, Mohilary held UG Brahma and Naba Sarania responsible for the poll violence in Baska and Gossaigaon districts of BTAD.

On the other hand, addressing mediapersons here today, Pramila Rani Brahma said that she was a victim of a deep rooted conspiracy and blamed the media for fabricating the statement with an ulterior motive.

Meanwhile, a election steering committee meeting of the BPF was held under the chairmanship of Mohilary at the Sikhnajhar Tae-kwon-do Gymnasium here today. The meeting discussed the post-poll scenario of Kokrajhar and Mangaldai seats. Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, BPF candidates Chandan Brahma and Sahadeb Das, the Executive Members of BTC, MLAs and other BPF leaders attended the meeting.
