Cong, AGP leaders join BJP in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA, Sept 8 - The silent movement of development formulated and subsequently implemented by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has attracted hordes of people to join the party.

The above was observed by BJP State president Sidhartha Bhattacharyya, while speaking at a function to welcome new entrants to the party at the District Library here on Monday. He stated that many workers and office-bearers of the ruling Congress party had joined the BJP in recent days after being disillusioned by the rampant corruption indulged in by the Tarun Gogoi-led State Government.

At the function, Ratan Sil of the Congress, who is a member of Tinsukia Municipal Board from Ward No.7 alongwith a large number of people from his Ward formally joined the BJP. Another notable political figure of the region, Manoranjan Sharma of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) along with more than 100 party workers joined the saffron brigade at the function.

The function was presided over by BJP district president Bhaben Sharma and party stalwarts like Prasanta Phukon and Dilip Moran, besides MLAs of Dibrugarh and Doomdooma respectively, Sashangka Jyoti Deka and Ajay Konwar, organising secretary and assistant organising secretary respectively of the BJP State committee were also present.

The party�s State president urged the newly joined members to work devotedly for the party as well as for the welfare of the people.
