KAMPUR, Oct 9 � The rampant sale of cultivable land has caused a lot of concern to the foresighted people who could foresee the consequences of such trend. The people are very much prone to sale their cultivable land at the slightest pretext which might lead to a lot of trouble in the days ahead.
The tendency of some people to sale their cultivable land at the slightest pretext is always decried by the wise people. Some people are of course compelled to sale land due to some unavoidable circumstances i.e. in case of incurable diseases or in such unavoidable circumstances.
Now a days people are very much prompt in selling their cultivable land to buy a plot of land in cities like Guwahati or to perform the marriages of their son and daughter in a big way unmindful of the consequences.
There was a time when vast paddy fields brings joy to the people. A number of singer including Late Rudra Borua, Late Khagen Mahanta and a host of others sang popular songs about the beauty of paddy fields. Now a days human dwelling have marred the beauty of the paddy fields which should be curbed at all cost.
It is high time that the Government should impose some restriction on selling of cultivable lands even though the land belong to a particular person.
