GUWAHATI, Aug 2 - A group of former and current office-bearers of the Cotton College Students Union and the Cotton University Students Union today voiced their concern over the alleged mismanagement taking place in the States premier educational institute.

Addressing mediapersons here, Jintu Thakuria, Manomohan Chutia and Hirok Jyoti Deka among others expressed concern over the poor infrastructure of the university.

Despite getting the status of a university, there has been hardly any improvement as far as the basic infrastructure facilities are concerned, they said, alleging that the authorities are treating the university as their private property.

The student leaders also alleged that the decision to make uniform compulsory for the higher secondary students was nothing but an attempt to digress from the core issues.

Various other issues including appointments in various posts were raised by the former and the current members of the student bodies.
