Concern over meeting of minister, ACTA secys

By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, March 27 The BJP, Assam Pradesh today voiced its reservation against the meet of Assam College Teachers Association (ACTA) unit secretaries and Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma scheduled on March 28 at 3 pm at the conference hall of Sarba Siksha Abhijan here.

The party said that this meet would be violating the model code of conduct and pointed out that by this time most of the members of ACTA were engaged as election officers.

General secretary of the party Santanu Bharali said that it was obvious the Minister would be using this meet to manipulate the ACTA. We strongly resent any step to exert influence on the ACTA and we have decided to approach the Election Commission in this regard, said Bharali adding that the EC should take the necessary steps against all who are flouting the model code of conduct.
