Concern over GU faulty grade system

GUWAHATI, March 25 � Expressing concern over the faulty grade system of Gauhati University�s graduation and post-graduation examinations, the All Assam Students� Union today said that the university should take-up measures to change this faulty grade system.

In a statement, the AASU leaders said that the system should be changed in favour of the students of the university.

According to AASU president Shankar Prasad Roy, the university authorities should upgrade the grade system of evaluation and place it at par with the international standards and other top-ranking educational institutions of the country.

�Students are facing many problems due to the confusing grade system. To address this problem of the students, the AASU would soon sit for a discussion with the eminent educationists of the State,� mentioned a statement.

The students� body also asked the university authorities to make arrangements for declaring results of the graduation courses.

A representatives� meet of the AASU would be held on March 27 in Guwahati from 11 am. The meet would be participated by the presidents and general secretaries of the local regional and university units of the students� body.
