Competition on robotics at IIT-G

GUWAHATI, April 22 � In view of the advancements taking place in the field of robotics, the students of IIT-Guwahati is trying to promote and inculcate the culture of robotics in the vast student community of India by organising robotics competitions through Techniche, the annual techno-management festival of the IIT-G.

Techniche is going to witness its 17th edition in September. From its humble beginning in 1999, Techniche has grown to become one of the premier techno-management festivals of the nation.

Tagged as Escalade, the prelims of the all-India robotics competition will be conducted in all major cities across the nation in July, where students can participate in a team of maximum four members. The top six teams from each centre will be selected and called to IIT-Guwahati to participate in the mains event of the competition to be held during Techniche�15. Moreover, the top three teams will get free travel tickets to Techniche, a press release stated.

Escalade has been organised successfully for the last two years (2013 and 2014). Escalade received an encouraging participation from the college communities all over India during the last two editions, the press release stated.

Escalade primarily acts as a platform to promote the budding talent of robotics present in the student community of India. The event will be held in two stages.
