Community surveillance

BONGAIGAON, May 13 - Bongaigaon district health department is conducting door-to-door community surveillance in rural areas in the district to detect unreported Influenza-like-Illness (ILI), Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI), malaria, Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and other minor flu-like symptoms.

The surveillance, which kicked off on May 7, has already covered 5,83,864 people of 456 villages in the district.

Twenty-seven people were found to have with fever and one with ILI.

The sample of the person detected with ILI has been collected as a suspected Covid-19 case and he has been put under home quarantine.
