DIBRUGARH, Aug 12 - Nilutpal Gogoi, a student of Mechanical Engineering Department of Dibrugarh University has entered the Assam Book of Records for being a numismatist (currency note and coin collector).
Gogoi, son of Pronam Kumar Gogoi of the city has been a numismatist since 2011. He has so far collected 71 currency notes and coins belonging to 12 different countries like Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Bhutan, Singapore, Bangladesh, Russia, Thailand, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, France and Nepal. The collections include ancient and modern currency notes and coins. He also possesses three antique copper coins of India, made in 1818.
The Assam Book of Records has appreciated his earnest persistence of his hobby and placed his name in the state record category.
