CM visits Suikapha Samannay Kshetra

DERGAON, July 8 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi visited the Suikapha Samannay Kshetra, the construction work of which is going on at Mahbandha by NH-37 under Dergaon LAC near here on Thursday. Gogoi took the stock of the construction work and found that nearly 30 per cent of the work has been completed. The foundation stone of the work was laid on January 20, 2006. He was apprised that sixty per cent of construction work of the Suikapha Bhavan and the welcome gate were completed while 30-40 per cent work of the museum, auditorium, artists� centre, administrative building, Shilpagram etc., have been completed.

Later, the Chief Minister reviewed the present status at a meeting held at the guest house of the Samannay Kshetra. The meeting was attended by the president of Samannay Kshetra Samiti BK Gohain, historian Jogen Phukan, PWD Secretary Ajoy Bordoloi, Chief Engineer PWD (Buildings) PK Choudhury, Dergaon MLA Arati Hazarika Kachari, Jorhat DC Solanki Bishal Basanta, Director Cultural Affairs Tapan Sarmah etc. According to sources, the Chief Minister urged the authorities concerned to complete the construction work by December next.
