CM to attend ACKS conference

TINSUKIA, April 18 - The 60th biennial central conference of the Asom Chah Karmachari Sangha (ACKS) will be held at Sripuria Bihutoli here with a three-day programme from April 29 to May 1.

ACKS, which has the strength of employees of more than 800 tea gardens of the Brahmaputra valley, will adopt resolutions on many issues related to the problems and for the welfare of its members in the forthcoming session.

A series of programmes has been lined up, including inauguration of a delegates� camp and formation of a new executive committee, etc.

The open session will be attended by Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, Labour and Welfare Minister, Government of Assam, Pallab Lochan Das, former president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha and noted writer, Dr Nagen Saikia besides other dignitaries. This was informed by the general secretary of the ACKS, Malbhog Baruah.
