CM reviews implementation of government schemes

DIBRUGARH, Oct 13 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the progress of flagship schemes of the central government and schemes of the state government, which are being implemented in the districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia during a meeting held at the deputy commissioner�s conference hall here yesterday.

During the review, Sonowal directed the officials to take up the schemes on a priority basis and ensure implementation without any irregularity.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to prepare a roadmap for speedy implementation of the schemes. He instructed them to prepare an additional list of left out beneficiaries under PMAY so that such families could be covered under this flagship scheme. He also said the state government would take appropriate steps for expediting the Aadhaar registration process to ensure that no eligible family is left out.

While reviewing the execution of nutritional schemes, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and the celebration of Poshan month, etc. by the Social Welfare department, the Chief Minister asked the officials concerned to maintain quality of food items provided to women and children and ensure that no anomaly takes place in the implementation process.

He also directed the officials concerned to take committed steps for effective implementation of central and state government schemes targeted to the Divyangjans.

During the meeting, Sonowal also reviewed the implementation of PMGSY, activities being carried out at village level under the 14th and 15th Finance Commission in both the districts. He directed the officials to conduct a monthly review of the programmes, verify the feasibility of each of the schemes passed at the Gaon Sabhas and keep a strict vigil on the proper use of sanctioned funds.

Sonowal further asked the officials to interact with the public to get their feedback on the schemes and perform responsibilities with honesty and sincerity without indulging in any corrupt practices. The Chief Minister also took stock of the progress of schemes and activities being carried out by APDCL, PHE, Agriculture, Water Resources and other departments.

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli, Minister of State (i/c) for Tea Tribes Welfare Sanjay Kishan, MLAs Prasanta Phukan, Rituparna Baruah, Binod Hazarika, Teros Gowala, Naren Sonowal, Chakradhar Gogoi and several senior officials of both the districts were present in the meeting, a release stated.
