CM reviews implementation of developmental schemes in Tinsukia dist

TINSUKIA, July 14 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has asked the Tinsukia district administration to show more expediency in implementing the Central and State government schemes in the district. He also asked the administration to adhere to a time-frame for the completion of each scheme for the welfare of all sections of people of the district.

Chairing a review meeting at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner�s office at Tinsukia on Friday, Chief Minister Sonowal asked Deputy Commissioner, Oinam Charan Kumar Singh to monitor the implementation of all the schemes in the district. Taking stock of the implementation of Centre�s Saubhagya scheme, he asked the APDCL functionary to electrify all the households in the district by December 2018. He also asked APDCL to take all the unelectrified households belonging to tea garden areas into the agenda of priority and electrify all the unelectrified households within the stipulated time-frame.

He also asked Deputy Commissioner to monitor the implementation of the Saubhagya scheme so that 57121 unelectrified households can be connected with electricity by December. He also asked the authority concerned to expedite distribution of four LED bulbs to each family besides installing individual meters in the tea garden areas.

Reviewing the implementation of Ujjwala scheme, he asked Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to complete distribution of LPG connections to all the beneficiary families within the stipulated time-frame. He also took stock of prices of essential commodities and asked the Supply Inspector to maintain constant surveillance on the market to regulate the prices. He also took stock of adulterated food items and asked the district administration to deal with food adulteration with an iron hand.

Taking a stock of the connectivity of Tinsukia district, Sonowal asked PWD department to complete construction of remaining 1415 length of rural roads in the district. He also issued instruction to convert all wooden bridges into concrete ones. Moreover, he asked the PHE department to adhere to construction of good quality toilets in the district. It may be mentioned here that 14449 toilets have already been constructed in the district and 16310 more toilets will be constructed soon.

He also asked the Deputy Commissioner to use his men and machinery to monitor strict implementation of Prime Minister�s flagship schemes like Prime Minister Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana etc. Making a review of the Education department of the district, Sonowal asked the Inspector of Schools to implement free text book distribution and free admission of students belonging to BPL category properly. Sonowal also asked him to scrupulously implement schemes in the tea garden areas besides making it mandatory for him to carry out inspection of schools in the district on a daily basis. He also asked the Inspector of Schools to organise meetings with guardians to make them aware of the schemes taken up by both the Central and State governments for the welfare of students.

On Chief Minister�s Samagra Grammya Unnayan Yojana, Sonowal asked the District Agriculture Officer to complete all the formalities of distributing tractors to agriculture groups. Sonowal also asked him to convene congregation of farmers to make them aware of best agricultural practices along with generating awareness among them for availing benefits of the agricultural schemes taken up by the Central and State governments like raising MSP of kharif crops etc. He also took stock of the health scenario in the district and asked the Joint Director, Health Services about the stages of implementation of Atal Amrit Abhiyan and the status of Tinsukia Medical College. All the senior officers of the district were present at the meeting.
