CM returns from abroad

NEW DELHI, Aug 4 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has returned from his foreign tour here this morning and is likely to stay put in the capital because of the formal dialogue with pro-talk faction of ULFA tomorrow.

Gogoi, who was accompanied by his wife Dolly Gogoi, returned from his three-nation tour of France,

Switzerland and UK, was received at the IGI Airport by State Government officials and his media adviser, Pankaj Bora. Gogoi had gone on the tour to get a first-hand knowledge about the vocational education being offered in the European countries.

Sources said that the Chief Minister, who was scheduled to return to Assam on Friday, postponed it on request by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, who asked him to be at hand tomorrow.

Later this afternoon the Chief Minister was briefed about the talks with ULFA by top officials of the State Government, including the State Home Secretary.
