GUWAHATI, Dec 31 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has extended his New Year greetings to the people of Assam. In his message, he hoped that the New Year would bring happiness and prosperity to the State.
He also appealed the people of the State to work for strengthening peace and harmony in the State, an official statement mentioned.
In his New Year message to the people the Bharatuya Janata Party, Assam president Ranjit Dutta said that the party would always work for ensuring peace and progress in the State.
The All India United Democratic front (AIUDF) has also extended its greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of New Year, a statement from AIUDF president Badaruddin Ajmal said.
President of the Association of Past and Present Office Bearers of the Cotton College Union Society, Gangapada Choudhury, has also wished a happy and prosperous New Year to the people of Assam. Save Guwahati Build Guwahati president Dhiren Baruah has also hoped for the peace and prosperity in the State in the coming year.
