JORHAT, Feb 14 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today inaugurated the Inter State Bus Terminus at Tarajan Katokipukhuri, Jorhat. Along with it he also inaugurated the Industrial Training Institute, ASTC, Jorhat Centre and Rural Connectivity Scheme buses here.
In his inaugural speech Gogoi said that the funds for the development projects were taken as loans from various financial organisations like World Bank and Asian Development Bank. ��But we know how to utilise the fund and return it in time��, he said.
In his speech B K Handique, Union Minister of DoNER expressed his pleasure for proper utilisation of North Eastern Council fund in the construction of the ISBT, Jorhat. He further said that more funds had been approved for several projects like water supply for Jorhat town, construction of multistorey car parking facility and construction of JB Road here.
K N Chetia, Managing Director of ASTC informed that as many as 26 rural connectivity buses were provided for Jorhat district. Chandan Brahma, State Transport Minister presided over the meeting.
