JORHAT, Jan 30 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today announced a cash assistance of Rs 5 lakh to a self-help group called Farm to Food Foundation, which has been promoting organic farming in its area of operation.

Visiting the self-help group at Bosagaon in Bokakhat, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi took stock of the activities of the Self- Help Group. He lauded the role played by the SHG in promoting organic farming and creating avenues of self-employment. The Chief Minister also admired different organic products produced by the group.

He also urged the office-bearers of the SHG to increase their activities in order to spread awareness on organic farming in every sphere of the society, which has the potential of creating more employment.

Gogoi was accompanied by his MP son Gaurav Gogoi.
