GUWAHATI, April 10 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched MyGov Assam website today at a function at Chief Ministers Conference Hall at Assam Secretariat.
The MyGov website would be interactive platform between the government and people of the State that would help the government in knowing public opinion on different subjects.
Launching the website, the Chief Minister said that MyGov would facilitate dialogue, discussion, deliberation and information dissemination between citizens and government and it would be a great tool for the people to give suggestion to the government on policy formulation and implementation.
Saying that the people are as much the stakeholders in the governance as the elective representatives, Sonowal said that they must engage themselves in governments functioning taking advantage of the technology like MyGov.
People have always been eager to provide their suggestions and feedback but due to lack of an interactive medium it was not possible for them. But now MyGov would provide the opportunity to the people to get closer to the government and bridge the gap in communication, Sonowal said.
Urging all departments and institutions under State government to take up MyGov Assam on priority basis and adopt a participatory approach in their decision making, Sonowal said that this platform would be a vital link between the government and public in achieving the goal of making Assam one of the best States in the country.
Further, saying that right from the panchayat to the Deputy Commissioner and Secretary level, MyGov would enable the government in knowing the functioning of every office and efficiency level in carrying out their duties, Sonowal said peoples responsibility do not end with voting but they have a crucial role in ensuring good governance at all levels.
We are open to criticism of all kinds and I urge the people to participate fully in this endeavour of making truly a pro-people government, Sonowal said.
