CM chairs meet on marine institute

GUWAHATI, Feb 12 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today chaired a high-level meeting at the State Secretariat to discuss the modalities on setting up of a proposed Institute of Marine Studies in Assam to reap the harvest of rich maritime industry in the country and abroad.

The meeting decided to set up a two-member panel to study the methodology of setting up of the proposed institute.

The meeting viewed the rich inherent possibilities of the maritime industry and expressed hope that the proposed Assam Institute of Marine Studies would be able to generate employment avenues and provide rightful vocations to the youths of the region.

Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla, Additional Chief Secretary to CM MGVK Bhanu, Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative Reforms & Traininig, Information Technology and Education Department Rajiv Kumar Bora along with other top officials were present at the meeting.
