Clothes bank opened at BBCI

JORABAT, Nov 30 - NGO Sanjeevani, in collaboration with the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), started a clothes bank for cancer patients at the B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) on Thursday. BBCI Director Dr Amal Chandra Kataki inaugurated the clothes bank.

Sumki Begum, coordinator of Sanjeevani in Guwahati who started the clothes bank with her team, expressed joy that their initiative has brought smiles on the faces of the patients from low-income groups, most of whom have to sell their property and belongings for treatment.

People from all over Assam have donated clothes, both new and old, and some have also donated blankets.
