SILCHAR, May 31 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s �Make in India� initiative will become a reality, feels Pritwiraj Dey, the fourth rank holder in Science stream in this year�s Higher Secondary examination conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).
Talking to The Assam Tribune after the announcement of results on Thursday, Pritwiraj, a student of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, said he wishes to study Electronics Communication, for which he is eyeing a berth in IIT or NIT.
�Barring the burgeoning population, it feels great to see India shining in the field of science and technology. There is ample scope for thinkers and doers to work in the country and the �Make in India� campaign will be a reality one day,� he said.
Son of Partha Pratim Dey and Shibani Dey, Pritwiraj, who got 479 out of 500, shared his success with his parents, college teachers and friends.
Pritwiraj said clear conception of topics with thorough reading makes learning much easier.
On the other hand, two other students of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, Sayan Paul and Kuntala Gupta stood 6th and 7th respectively in the Commerce stream.
While Sayan, son of Shymal Paul and Rinku Paul, is preparing for his CA examinations, Kuntala said she wishes to become a banker.
In reply to a question on the demonetisation in the country, Kuntala, daughter of Ashish Gupta and Nibedita Gupta, was of the view that demonetisation shall bear fruits in the long run.
Despite seemingly a poor show in the results tally, Women�s College, Silchar registered an impressive success rate of 82.22 per cent in the Commerce stream and 62.44 per cent in the Arts stream.
Ramanuj Gupta Junior College witnessed 100 per cent results in the Commerce stream, 94.1 percent in Arts and 90.7 per cent in Science streams.
Government Boys HS School at Silchar registered 85 per cent success rate in the Science stream and 48 per cent in the Arts stream.
