MORIGAON, Aug 3 - The Swachh Survekshan Gramin � 2018, a mega rural cleanliness drive was formally launched in Morigaon district on July 31 under the auspices of the Morigaon District Water & Sanitation Committee.
The swachhata rath was formally flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner, Morigaon Hemen Das, while launching the scheme in Morigaon district. An open meeting was organised at Morigaon Gandhi Bhavan on the occasion where senior citizens, several members of different NGOs took part.
Addressing the gathering, Hemen Das, DC, Morigaon called upon the PHE officials and all stakeholders to make the programme a grand success in Morigaon district. Speaking on the occasion, several officials of the PHE Department of Morigaon district said that the month-long cleanliness campaign under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Gramin) will witness a host of activities that will primarily focus on schools, Anganwadi centres, health centres, market places etc. Jayanta Kumar Medhi, Member Secretary and Executive Engineer, PHE, Morigaon appealed to all the sections of people to cooperate with the department to make the programme a grand success.
