By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Dec 3 - The Border Security Force (BSF), Guwahati Frontier, has joined the ongoing Swachh Bharat Pakhwada being observed till December 15 under the Swachh Bharat Campaign.

The Pakhwada started with the Swachhata pledge administered by Inspector General Rakesh Aggarwal to officers and jawans of the Frontier headquarters. He appealed to the people to work towards realising the goal of Swachh Bharat by inculcating cleanliness in their daily lives by dedicating two hours a week to cleanliness which would lead to 100 hours in a year. The pledge was also administered in sectors like Coochbehar, Falakata, Dhubri and in all battalions of the frontier.

At the headquarters, the drive was led by the IG in which 140 personnel took part.

We the sentinels of the border are not only confined to our assigned duties, but are also donning the role of 'Sentinels of the Environment'. We as responsible citizens of India should work with the sole aim of contributing towards saving and preserving our environment, by involving the masses, he said. The BSF will take up various initiatives as part of the drive.
