CJI to lay foundation of Gauhati HC auditorium

GUWAHATI, Aug 3 - Chief Justice of India Justice Ranjan Gogoi will lay the foundation stone of the auditorium of the Gauhati High Court tomorrow.

To mark the occasion, a function will be organised at the Old Block of the High Court. The function will be attended by Hrishikesh Roy, Chief Justice of High Court of Kerala; Acting Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Arup Kumar Goswami; other judges and former judges of the Gauhati High Court along with members of the Bar and dignitaries from across the State and top government officials, a statement said.

The proposed auditorium will be built adjacent to the Gauhati High Court (New BIock) with a ground coverage area of 657 square metres (7,070 sq feet) and will be well equipped with all modern facilities and equipment. With the capacity to accommodate 340 people at a time, the auditorium will have provisions of a lobby, lounge and circulation space.
