Civic body meets DC

KAMPUR, May 22 � A five-member delegation of the Kampur Civil Subdivision Demand Committee under the leadership of Kamaleswar Gohain, president of the Kampur Senior Citizens� Association met the Deputy Commission of Nagaon, Dr P Ashok Babu recently and discussed with him about the criteria required for a civil subdivision and whether Kampur would fulfil the required criteria.

The Deputy Commission after a patient hearing on the views of the delegation, assured the members that he would try his level best for the establishment of a civil subdivision at Kampur provided the criteria for establishment of the subdivision are fulfilled.

The other members of the delegation were SR Mazmudar, retired principal of Kampur College and general secretary of the subdivision demand committee, Sudhamoy Dar, an educationist, Harakanta Nath, a retired teacher and a social worker and RM Barthakur, vice president of the subdivision demand committee.
