City Cricket Club annex T-20 title

TIHU, March 19 - City Cricket Club (CCC) of Guwahati defeated Ankurjyoti Club by 83 runs in the final match of the Satish Chandra Tamuli T-20 Cricket Tournament at Sarihatali stadium here today.

Put in to the bat, City Cricket Club scored 173 losing seven wickets in their stipulated overs. Amzad Ali and Sahir Rahman scored unbeaten knocks of 55 and 50 respectively while Ankurjyoti boys could only manage 90 runs losing eight wickets. Sahir Rahman of City Cricket Club was adjudged the man of the match while Chanakya Sarma of Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre was awarded the man of the series trophy.

The prize distribution function was attended by several dignitaries including Ashok Sarma, MLA Nalbari; Pradyut Bhuyan, president, Nalbari Sports Association; Hemanta Kr Bhattacharjya, SP Nalbari; Ranji Trophy players Arup Das and Krishna Das; Sanatan Das, secretary Barpeta Sports Association and Ganesh Tamuli, trophy donor, among others, stated a release.
