GUWAHATI, Feb 7 � City Cricket Club clinched the opening match of the Bud Cricket Club organised 13th Jugal Kishore Newatia Memorial Cricket Tournament against Gauhati Town Club (GTC) by seven wickets.
At the Nehru Stadium here today, electing to bat first the GTC batsmen miserably failed to handle the turning stuffs of man-of-the-match Bikram Chetry and were all out for 94. Nitin Das was their only notable contributor with 33.
Bikram took four wickets for nine while Chandandeep Das got three wickets for 15. The City CC took just 16.3 overs to reach the winning target losing three wickets. Bastav Hazarika and Romario Sharma remained unbeaten with 31 and 19 respectively. Former ACA secretary Abdul Motin was falicitated by the organisers.
