GUWAHATI, Feb 10: Unresolved civic issues including dilapidated condition of the main road in the Sreebhumi Nagar locality at Lalganesh have irked the local people of the area.

According to the residents the government agencies and people’s representatives have failed miserably to address the issues of the locality.

The condition of the road, the only road which connects Lokhra-Adagudam Road of Lalganesh area, is such that walking along it during the rainy season is almost impossible.

“About 6,000 people reside in the locality. MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita has been approached several times and we submitted memoranda for renovation of the road and development of the locality,” a resident said.

The Sreebhumi Nagar Kali Mandir Dharamsala Committee organised a meeting for all-round development of the locality recently where West Guwahati MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita was present.

During the meeting, MLA Kalita was briefed about the suffering of the people.

Moreover, the local residents showed their unhappiness with Kalita for failing to do any constructive work for the locality.

However, MLA Kalita assured the people that he would start renovation work before the ensuing election.
