Citizens� Dialogue on trade held in Imphal

IMPHAL, Aug 20 - Manipur�s titular King Leisemba Sanajaoba has said that he will urge Chief Minister N Biren Singh to construct a Buddhist Guest House here for sojourn by Buddhists from Myanmar, on way to Bodha Gaya, Bihar.

Titular King Sanajaoba was delivering his inaugural speech at the two-day Citizens� Dialogue on the �Prospects of Manipur and Sagaing Region�, here on Sunday.

The titular King appealed to all to shun bandh and blockade and avail the opportunities of Indo-Myanmar trade and focus on development. Bandh and blockade only bring hindrance to development of the State, he added.

In his key-note address, Act East Policy Committee, Government of Manipur, Convenor RK Shivachandra Singh expressed the need to develop the underdeveloped regions of Saigang Division of Myanmar and Manipur.

Three academic sessions including Academia Interface and Prospects of Collaborations were also held to discuss on improving the cross border trade.

A four member Myanmar delegation led by former secretary Myat Kyaw Kyaw of Saigang region attended the programme. The Citizens� Dialogue concluded today at Loktak lake.
