GUWAHATI, March 14 - The condition of the Manik Chandra (MC) Road in Uzanbazar area and the KK Bhatta Road in Chenikuthi here has been in a deplorable condition for quite some time.
�The roads are replete with potholes making it unsuitable for vehicular movement. Several complaints were filed with the PWD and the GMC for repairing the roads and cleaning the drains but not a single step was taken. Poor road condition and waterlogging problems have been there for many years,� Rupam Medhi, a senior citizen of greater Uzan Bazar area, said.
�Even a light shower flooded the stretch. I urge the authorities to take urgent measures to repair the roads. Good condition of this two roads helps in minimising the traffic congestion in the GNB road. Not only are these two roads but several important roads and bylanes in the city in bad condition,� he added.
