Cinematographer brings laurels to State

GUWAHATI, April 4 - A budding Assamese cinematographer, Vikramjit Barua, has brought laurels to the State as the screening of a short film Paani (Hindi) in Cannes Film Festival in France this year has got positive response across the world, stated a press release.

The film is directed by a young Russian director, Nedezda Dolmatova, and the director of photography is by Barua.

Currently, Barua is finishing a course in cinematography in Subhash Ghai�s Whistling Woods International Media School in Mumbai. He did a two-year specialised photography course in Light and Life Academy in Ooty earlier. Barua did his schooling from The Assam Valley School and DPS, Noida. He is the only son of Anangarekha Devi Barua, grandson of Late Raja Ajit Narayan Deb and Late Rani Manjula Devi of Sidli.
