Chopper services for Moreh, Tamenglong

IMPHAL, Oct 24 - Helicopter services to border town Moreh, which is said to be India�s gateway to South East Asian countries and Tamenglong, a hill station, will be introduced from October 29. The services connecting the two towns with the State capital Imphal is expected to improve connectivity.

Moreh is located about 110 km from Imphal while Tamenglong is about 150 km west of Imphal.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh made the announcement about the launching of the helicopter services while speaking at the launching function of new bus routes at the Inter-State Bus Terminus at Khuman Lampak here on Wednesday.

The maiden helicopter service between Imphal and Jiribam, 222 km from the State capital, was launched on September 20 this year.

The Noida-based Pawan Hans Ltd, which has deployed helicopters in six NE States for passenger service, medical evacuation and VIP transportation, is operating the service with an eight-seater chopper in Manipur.
