Child scientists feted at Dhubri

DHUBRI, Nov 24 - Aryabhatta Science Centre of Dhubri district recently felicitated two students for bringing glory to the State this year in the area of science and technology.

On behalf of the Centre, Inspector of Schools and DIPRO Bikash Sharma felicitated Nazia Hassan, a Class VIII student of Adabari ME School for winning the State-level Children�s Science Congress and for getting selected to represent the State in the National Children�s Science Congress, 2018 to be held at Bhubaneswar in December.

In the felicitation programme, which was attended by Principal of BN College, Dr Dhruba Chakrabarty and Prof of the College Piyush Kumar Mishra along with a host of other dignitaries, Class VIII student of Gauripur Girls� HS School, Lakhi Poddar was also felicitated for her achievements. Lakhi, recently represented the State in the North East Science Connect 2018 competition and bagged the 2nd position.

It may be mentioned here that Lakhi due to financial hardships could not have taken part in the competition, but the Education department came to her rescue and provided her the required aid because of which she was able to take part and win the competition for the State.

Nazia�s project on �A study of various teeth problems under the Adabari area� has been selected for the National Children�s Science Congress -2018 under the theme �Science, Technology and Innovation for a Clean, Green and Healthy Nation.�

It may be mentioned here that Nazia�s project is among the 26 projects which was selected out of 287 science projects from all the districts of Assam in the Children�s Science Congress, held in Majuli from October 23 to October 26. Later, out of the 26 finalised entries, Nazia�s project has been chosen to represent the State in the prestigious national-level competition.
