Chess imbroglio

GUWAHATI, April 22 � The All India Chess Federation (AICF) in its central council meeting held at Chennai recently suspended the All Assam Chess Association and has decided to nominate an ad-hoc committee to run the affairs of the All Assam Chess Association till fresh elections are held.

The ad-hoc committee has been empowered to conduct the elections for the new set of office bearer in consultation and direct supervision of India Chess Federation and till that time the ad-hoc committee shall have all the powers to take care of the affairs of the All Assam Chess Association including conducting selection tournaments, consider and permit requests to organise tournaments and communicating with all districts.

The ad-hoc committee consists of the following 5 members: Rajeev Kumar Bora (Chairman) Members: Laishram Imocha, Binod Khemka, Mridul Kumar Mahanta, Biswajit Bharadwaj.
