Cherry Blossom fest ends

SHILLONG, Nov 17 - The four-day Cherry Blossom festival came to an end today with drummers from Meghalaya and Japan playing in unison to bid adieu to the festival at the Polo Grounds here.

During the festival, the Embassy of Japan was thoroughly involved with drummers, judokas and artists entertaining the people along with local artists and artisans.

The festival was inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Japan�s Ambassador to India, Kenji Hiramatsu.

Meghalaya Education Minister Lakmen Rymbui was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the festival. Apart from the events, food stalls from different parts of the State were put up. A few other stalls from Assam, Nagaland, Manipur and other States sold local products from their States.
