Chattishgarh stage fightback

TINSUKIA, Oct 26 - Chattishgarh staged a fightback with 210 for three in their first innings in reply to Assam�s 398.

On the penultimate day of the four-day U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy Cricket Tournament match at the Katchujan Field here today, Assam, resuming their first innings at the overnight total of 363 for seven, were all out for 393 with Rahul Hazarika remained unbeaten on 222. He carried the bat through and faced 354 deliveries. The visiting batsmen took full advantage of the batting-friendly track and handled the Assam bowlers as per the demand of the situation.

The third wicket partnership between AA Toppo (77 not out) and AO Pal (54) yeilded 128 runs which became crucial for the Chattishgarh team after the fall of openers CJ Jalkshatri (29) and AG Tiwari (13) at the score of 47. AJ Mandal (26) was the other not batsman at close of the third day�s play.
