GUWAHATI, Dec 7 - Several organisations of greater Panjabari area including Brihattar Panjabari Sahitya Sabha, Senior Citizens� Association, Baghorbori Asomi Mahila Samiti, Jyoti Sikha Mahila Samanway Parishad and Kala Sainik have appealed to veteran journalist DN Chakravartty to rescind his decision to leave Assam after he was embroiled in a controversy over a couple of his recent statements including his views on encroachment on Assam land by Naga miscreants.
A delegation of the organisations called on Chakravartty at his residence and urged him to be active socially as before and not to leave Assam, the organisations said in a statement.
