GUWAHATI, July 6 � The District Administration of Kamrup (Metropolitan) has decided to introduce a new system in which certificates like PRC, certificate of Next of Kin, Non-creamy Layer, NOC for birth and death, besides land sale permission, will have barcodes from now onwards.
The barcoding has already been implemented in respect of PRC (permanent residence certificate) from today. Other certificates will be included in the system within a day or two.
This decision came after it has been brought to the notice of the administration that some fraudulent documents/certificates have been created by some unscrupulous elements. The new system is expected to help prevent such activities, an official release stated.
