Centre�s decision on life-saving drugs flayed

GUWAHATI, Nov 12 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today described the decision of the Central Government to authorise the medicine companies to determine the prices of life-saving drugs as a reflection of the anti-poor policies of the dispensation in New Delhi.

In a statement here, the Chief Minister said that this decision of the Central Government will hit the common people, particularly the poorer section.

The prices of life-saving drugs have shot up abnormally following the decision of the Central Government to exclude 108 medicines from the list of essential medicines. Such steps of the Central Government have adversely impacted the life of the poor people of the country, said the Chief Minister.
