SHILLONG, Dec 20 - A conglomeration of NGOs has sought the intervention of the Central government for setting up an entrepreneurship college in Meghalayas Garo Hills, an area plagued by militancy.
A joint memorandum in this regard was submitted by a delegation of five NGOs, including GSU, FKJGP, FAF, AYWO and ADE, to Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports, in a meeting held in New Delhi recently.
We request the Central government to help the indigenous people of Garo Hills by introducing the idea of nurturing future entrepreneurs by setting up an entrepreneur college, the joint memorandum said.
The Union Minister assured the delegation that the matter would be looked into at the earliest, members of the delegation stated.
