GUWAHATI, April 5 - The Central government is considering a financial restructuring plan for revival of the Cachar Paper Mill, Panchgram and the Nagaon Paper Mill, Jagiroad, and any monetary package in this regard will depend on the final decision of the Centre.
This was stated in a written reply to the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday by Minister of Industries and Commerce Chandra Mohan Patowary.
He said both the mills, owned by Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited, comes under the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises.
�Though the mills do not directly fall under the State government�s jurisdiction, we have been in touch with the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises for revival of these two mills,� he added.
