NEW DELHI, Dec 15 - Fulfilling a long-pending demand, the Centre has assured construction of a bridge over the Brahmaputra connecting river island Majuli with Jorhat.
The assurance was given to a delegation comprising Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Lok Sabha MPs Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Rameswar Teli. Dr Pitambar Deva Goswami and Janardan Deva Goswami, Satradhikars of Auniati Satra and North Kamalabari Satra respectively also accompanied the delegation.
