KOKRAJHAR, Feb 21 A high-level team from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs comprising RS Pandey, who is also the representative for Naga peace talks and Shambhu Singh, Joint Secretary (NE) in the MHA, today met the Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary and officials of BTC to review the development activities in relation to Central funds released for the BTAD region and also to review the law-and-order scenario in the area.

The Central team has looked into every detail pertaining to utilization of Central funds to the extent of development through grants and Central assistance.

At the same time, the MHA officials also held a closed door meeting with IGP, BTAD, SPs and DCs of BTAD areas regarding security arrangements and prevailing law and order situation.

Later, talking to the media the MHA officials said that NDFB has to desist from violence and criminal activities as a precondition for talks. They have also refuted any possibility of talks unless NDFB shuts the path of violence.

Meanwhile, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has said that the MHA team is satisfied with the progress in BTC areas. At the same time, Mohilary has expressed hope that if the UPA Government considers creation of Telengana State then the State of Bodoland may also be considered by the Central Government in the coming days.
