AGARTALA, Oct 4 - A high-powered committee headed by the Special Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Internal Secretary wing, will arrive here on October 9, official sources said here today.
During the visit, the committee will meet representatives of national and State political parties to seek their views on the socio-economic and linguistic development of the indigenous people.
Besides, the panel will hold talks with social organisations espousing the cause of development of the tribal population of the State in the State Guest House on October 10. The Ministry of Home Affairs had set up the 13-member committee to look into aspects of socio-economic and linguistic development of the indigenous people of the State.
