DIBRUGARH, Jan 29 � The Government of India has selected the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) as one of the centres for model labs under the project �Labs for Life�.
The project will be executed with the joint support of US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The government has taken up this innovative project to create model labs in 10 districts in seven states of India.
�It will be a partnership project for improving quality of laboratory services, building sustainable laboratory systems and strengthening country-owned institutions within the public health sector. Implementation of this project will upgrade the laboratory services of AMCH to international standards,� Prof Atindra Kumar Adhikari, Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent of AMCH, told The Assam Tribune.
